The NVQ Level 2 Playwork qualification is designed for Playworkers, before and after school care workers and holiday club workers. It covers supporting and protecting children, contributing in a team, dealing with accidents and emergencies and Health and Safety in a Playwork setting.
Prior to joining the course, you have an interview where an initial assessment is carried out to determine the correct level for you. You can start training with triangle without having gained previous qualifications, or previous course of study.
Playworkers work with school age children (4-16) and plan activities and play opportunities to help them develop.

NVQs will benefit both you and the organisation where you work. NVQs also raise the quality of service provided by Childcare staff. All the skills are recognised and measured against National Standards.
NVQ learners are assessed on their performance in the work setting by qualified assessors from triangle.
Learners will also be required to attend training sessions delivered by triangle. This will give the relevant underpinning knowledge and understanding in Playwork.
