Course Objectives
Train to Gain in Care is designed specifically to:

  • Help your staff build on personal strengths by focusing training and development on the areas in which personal development is required.
  • Develop specific caring skills within the natural work environment.
  • Recognise the competencies and skills required to provide effective levels of service within your employees’ occupational area.


Course Content
The Care NVQ Level 2 programme comprises a number of complementary learning units that add value to the way your staff work, and to the relationship your business enjoys with your customers. 

 

Communicating with, and completing records for individuals – Unit HSC 21
Your employees work with individuals and others to identify the best forms of communication by:

  • Listening and responding to individual’s questions and concerns.
  • Communicating with individuals.
  • Accessing and updating records and reports.


Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals – Unit HSC 22
Personal development enables your employees to competently: 

  • Carry out health and safety in the work place.
  • Ensure actions support health and safety in the work place.
  • Take action to deal with emergencies.

 

Develop your knowledge and practice – Unit HSC 23
This unit enables your employees to competently:

  • Evaluate their work.
  • Use new and improved skills and knowledge in the work place.


Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals - Unit HSC 24
Your employees learn how to:

 

  • Relate and support individuals in the way they choose.
  • Treat people with respect and dignity.
  • Assist in the protection of individuals
 

Duration
Six visits structured around your work experience.
