The NVQ Level 2 in Teaching Assistants is designed for adults who may be new to the job or have limited responsibilities within the school. Examples of job roles are Classroom Assistants, Special Educational Needs Assistants and Learning Support Assistants.
Prior to joining the course you have an interview where an initial assessment is carried out to determine the correct level for you. You can start training with triangle without having gained previous qualifications, or previous course of study.
These awards are for people who currently work, or want to work, in a school environment. They support teachers and work largely under supervision, particularly supporting the Literacy and Numeracy strategy.

NVQs will benefit both you and the organisation where you work. NVQs also raise the quality of service provided by Childcare staff. All the skills are recognised and measured against National Standards.
NVQ learners are assessed on their performance in the work setting by qualified assessors from triangle. Learners will also be required to attend training sessions delivered by triangle. This will give you the relevant underpinning knowledge and understanding in Teaching Assistant criteria.
