Teaching Assistants

The NVQ Level 3 in Teaching Assistants is designed for those who have a range of responsibilities within the school. Examples of jobs are Classroom Assistant, Special Educational Needs Coordinator and Learning Support Coordinator.

Prior to joining the course you have an interview where an initial assessment is carried out to determine the correct level for you. You can start training with triangle without having gained previous qualifications, or previous course of study.

These awards are for people who currently work, or want to work, in a school environment. They support teachers and work largely under supervision, particularly supporting the Literacy and Numeracy strategy.
